Job description

PathGroup is seeking an AP/CP and Cytopathology Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pathologist to join our hospital-based team supporting Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Responsibilities will include sign out of surgical pathology cases, non-gynecologic cytopathology and shared on call responsibilities. Hospital-based services, such as frozen sections and rapid onsite cytology evaluations, are also performed. The Erlanger Health System is a large tertiary care center and comprehensive cancer center and is the teaching hospital for University of Tennessee Chattanooga School of Medicine. Our pathologists have a strong work ethic and are fully committed to an atmosphere of team support and include subspecialty expertise in GI, Neuropathology, Pediatrics, Cytopathology, Hematopathology, Genitourinary, Breast and bone/soft tissue. Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary sign-out of cytopathology cases (non-gynecologic focus)
  • Participation in general surgical pathology sign-out
  • Perform rapid onsite evaluation (ROSE) for cytology procedures
  • Perform frozen sections and intraoperative consultations
  • Participate in shared call responsibilities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams and participate in tumor boards
  • Support quality initiatives and clinical excellence
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • AP/CP Board Certification or Board Eligibility
  • Board Certification or Fellowship Training in Cytopathology required
  • Subspecialty experience or interest in Pulmonary and/or Gynecologic Pathology preferred
  • Eligible for or currently hold a Tennessee medical license
  • Strong diagnostic and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
