Pay Range: $34.75 - $45.06 per hour

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Summary of Job Function:

Is competent and able to perform all routine cytogenetic procedures including and not limited to:

  • Tissue culture
  • Harvest of metaphase chromosomes from blood, bone marrow, and normal & neoplastic tissue specimens
  • Slide making
  • G banding
  • Automated karyotyping procedures
  • International System of Cytogenetic Nomenclature (ISCN)

Is adept, current, and competent in special cytogenetic procedures including:

Complex chromosome analysis

All aspects of Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH)

Cell separation

Quality Control

  • documents daily performance of reagents & equipment
  • evaluates acceptability of results
  • validates FISH probes

Troubleshooting

  • Performs & evaluates trouble shooting procedures independently or by instruction
  • Evaluates modifications for improvement of current methods,
  • Participates in the Laboratory s Performance Improvement Plan,

Administrative Duties

  • Record Keeping
