We Are:
At Synopsys, we drive the innovations that shape the way we live and connect. Our technology is central to the Era of Pervasive Intelligence, from self-driving cars to learning machines. We lead in chip design, verification, and IP integration, empowering the creation of high-performance silicon chips and software content. Join us to transform the future through continuous technological innovation.
You Are:
You are a highly skilled cybersecurity engineer with a passion for securing access to critical systems, applications, and data at scale. You bring deep hands-on expertise in identity security, secrets management, and privileged access, with strong skills supporting HashiCorp Vault and modern secrets lifecycle management practices. You thrive in complex, highly technical environments where secure-by-design principles are essential to enabling business velocity.
You are comfortable leading technical conversations with architects, DevOps engineers, application teams, and security stakeholders, translating identity and access risks into clear, actionable solutions. You balance strong engineering execution with strategic thinking, understanding how identity security strengthens cloud architectures, hybrid architectures, and modern development pipelines.
Collaborative and influential, you serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor-guiding design decisions, mentoring engineers, and driving adoption of best practices across the enterprise. You are equally comfortable troubleshooting production issues, designing scalable architectures, and presenting recommendations to senior leadership. Above all, you are committed to protecting Synopsys' critical assets while enabling innovation and growth.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Managing, operating, and optimizing enterprise-grade identity security and secrets management solutions, with a strong emphasis on HashiCorp Vault and related ecosystems.
  • Leading the secrets lifecycle for applications and infrastructure, including secure creation, storage, access, rotation, revocation, and auditability.
  • Partnering closely with DevOps, product, and application teams to integrate identity and secrets management into cloud, hybrid, and on-prem CI/CD pipelines and application workloads.
  • Driving architecture and design discussions for identity-based access controls across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments.
  • Providing senior-level technical leadership and hands-on support, including troubleshooting complex identity, authentication, and authorization challenges.
  • Establishing and enforcing standards, patterns, and best practices for identity security, secrets management, and privileged access.
  • Supporting and enhancing zero trust and least-privilege access models across human and non-human identities (workloads, services, APIs).
  • Documenting architectures, designs, operational procedures, and runbooks, and delivering clear technical guidance to stakeholders.
  • Partnering with GRC, audit, and compliance teams to ensure identity and secrets controls align with regulatory and internal security requirements.
  • Mentoring junior and mid-level engineers, raising the overall maturity and operational excellence of the identity security program.

The Impact You Will Have:
  • Strengthen Synopsys' identity security posture by reducing the risk of credential exposure, secrets sprawl, and unauthorized access.
  • Ensure compliance with a rapidly evolving landscape of regulations and standards, maintaining Synopsys' status as a trusted partner.
  • Mitigate risks across supply chains and minimize the potential for cascading breaches in interconnected environments.
  • Enable secure and efficient development through reliable, developer-friendly secrets management solutions.
  • Serve as a technical authority and trusted partner for identity security, influencing long-term platform and security strategy.
  • Help build a scalable, secure foundation that supports Synopsys' continued innovation and global growth.
  • Improve resilience and auditability of critical systems through well-architected identity and access controls.
  • Enable business agility by integrating security seamlessly into operations, supporting Synopsys' continued growth and technological leadership.

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in cybersecurity, identity and access management or related field, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with HashiCorp Vault, including architecture, operations, policies, authentication methods, and integrations.
  • Strong experience with secrets management, privileged access, and non-human identity security in cloud, on-prem and hybrid environments.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized environments (Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash) to support security workflows and integrations.
  • Solid understanding of IAM concepts including authentication, authorization, federation, MFA, SSO, and least privilege.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or vendor-specific certifications are a plus. (or willingness to obtain).

Who You Are:
  • Strategic, analytical thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Collaborative, inclusive leader with a passion for mentorship and team development.
  • Adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous learning in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.
  • Highly ethical, trustworthy, and dedicated to protecting identities, strengthen development practices and support organizational integrity.

The Team You'll Be A Part Of:
You will join Synopsys' Data & Identity Security Engineering team, a highly skilled group of security professionals focused on securing identities, protecting intellectual property, and safeguarding sensitive enterprise data. The team's mission is to anticipate and neutralize emerging threats, ensure compliance with global regulations, and support the secure growth of Synopsys.
