Job Title: System Analysis Engineer

Department: Automation

Location: Westfield, IN or Remote

Employment Type: Full Time


Reporting to the Director of Automated Solutions the System Analysis Engineer is responsible for performing data analysis activities that support the evaluation of Client operations and the operational performance of proposed system designs. Their analysis activities require translating Customer's data into operational requirements. In addition, they develop internal tools to support the efficiency and accuracy of solution development activities. 


OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Analysis

  • With support, perform Excel and/or Database data analysis to determine system requirements for automated material handling solutions to support Customers operations
  • Collaborate with the sales team, Design Center and Customers to determine the appropriate level of data analysis required to achieve the Customer's objectives
  • With support translate manual DC operations KPIs into system requirements
  • Leverage tools to identify activity rates for operational activities
  • Communication
  • Develop analysis documentation including system/model functional description, productivity details, rate details, constraints and limitations, material and information flowcharts and presentation materials.
  • Support sales presentations to communicate the analysis activities that drove the concepted solutions
  • Technology Analysis & Design
  • Develop internal tools leveraging the latest technologies to support the efficiency and accuracy of solution development activities
  • Tool Usage
  • Utilize Power BI, SQL and MS Suite to clearly communicate analysis

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient in data analysis leveraging spreadsheets (MS Excel) - including data analysis using pivot tables, and customization with macros
  • Familiarity in the application of data analysis and modeling tools associated with automated distribution center designs
  • Basic understanding of material handling systems and their components
  • Basic understanding of statistical methods and mathematical calculations to determine system requirements
  • Able to conduct data analysis leveraging Excel formulas and database queries
  • Able to leverage most labor standards to determine high level solutions labor savings
