Position Summary

Global C2 Integration Technologies is seeking a Network Engineer to design, configure, monitor, and maintain secure, mission-critical network infrastructure. This role ensures reliable and secure connectivity across operational environments, supporting routing, switching, and firewall systems. The Network Engineer administers Cisco Catalyst switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and network monitoring tools while collaborating with system administrators, cybersecurity, engineering, and configuration management teams to maintain system performance, availability, and compliance. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, operate, and maintain secure on-premises network infrastructure.
  • Ensure reliable connectivity across computers, storage, and mission systems.
  • Configure and manage Cisco Catalyst switches (Layer 2/3, VLANs, trunking, STP, LACP, ACLs).
  • Administer Palo Alto firewalls, including access control, NAT, application filtering, and threat prevention.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and security; analyze traffic and resolve issues.
  • Troubleshoot network faults, outages, and performance degradation; perform root cause analysis.
  • Maintain configuration baselines, backups, diagrams, and device inventories.
  • Implement and enforce network security controls aligned with NIST and RMF requirements.
  • Support vulnerability remediation, patching, and security hardening.
  • Monitor logs and alerts to detect and respond to security threats and incidents.
  • Support incident response and coordinate with cybersecurity teams.
  • Implement approved changes following configuration and change management processes.
  • Maintain operational readiness of mission systems, including failover and multi-homing designs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years supporting enterprise or mission-critical networks.
  • Experience with Cisco Catalyst switching and Palo Alto firewall administration.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting methodologies.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting government or secure operational environments.
  • Familiarity with RMF and network security compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Knowledge of secure enclave networking and network segmentation.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, PCNSE/PCNSA, Security+).
  • Experience with COMSEC equipment and HCI environments.
  • Background in incident response, configuration management, and network documentation.
