Job Description Account Executive – Cybersecurity (Midwest)

Reports to: Founder / Head of Sales

About the Role

We are hiring a region-focused Account Executive to own and close cybersecurity opportunities across the Midwest.

This is not a high-volume outbound role.

You will work qualified pipeline coming from referrals, industry events, and existing customer relationships , and you will run deals full-cycle — from first conversation through close.

The Midwest territory includes a heavy concentration of manufacturing, industrial automation, food & beverage, and engineering organizations . This role suits a seller who understands complex environments, values long-term relationships, and moves enterprise deals forward with focus and discipline.

What You’ll Do
  • Own and close qualified inbound, referral, and event-driven opportunities
  • Qualify quickly and effectively to keep a clean and realistic pipeline
  • Build trusted relationships with IT Directors, Security Directors, CISOs, and Operations leadership
  • Coordinate with vendor pre-sales teams for technical demos and POCs
  • Attend and leverage regional trade shows, conferences, and meetups
  • Maintain a lean CRM discipline : next steps, forecast, close dates — no unnecessary busywork
  • Identify expansion opportunities in existing accounts
  • Represent the company with professionalism and responsiveness before and after the sale
What This Role Is Not
  • This is not a high-volume cold calling or mass email quota role
  • This is not an SDR role
  • This is not heavy administrative reporting
  • This is not a transactional SaaS sales environment
  • Your performance is measured by pipeline quality, closed revenue, and customer impact — not activity volume.
Compensation
  • Uncapped commission: performance-based variable compensation
  • Competitive On-Target Earnings (OTE) based on performance and quota achievement
  • Clear path to expanded territories and higher ACV targets as the region grows
Requirements
  • 5+ years of full-cycle B2B enterprise sales experience
  • Experience selling into manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or technical environments
  • Comfortable engaging both technical buyers and executive-level stakeholders
  • Strong discovery and qualification skills
  • Confident managing complex sales cycles independently
  • Relationship-driven, accountable, and reliable
  • Comfortable traveling regionally for customer meetings and industry events
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
