This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations.

Summary:

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Cyber Architect to support the 32nd Weapons Squadron at Nellis AFB, NV.  The 32nd Weapons Squadron develops and trains the Air Force's most skilled cyber warfare professionals. The Cyber Architect will design, develop, and modernize secure cyber training and operational environments that support the Cyber Warfare Operations Weapons Instructor Course. This role ensures that mission environments, cyber ranges, and training systems are securely architected, integrated, and capable of supporting advanced cyber warfare instruction.

What We're Looking For:

Cyber Architecture & System Design
Design secure cyber environments, networks, and missiontraining systems used in the Cyber Warfare Ops Weapons Instructor Course.
Develop highlevel cyber architecture diagrams, system models, and integration plans.
Define the security requirements for new systems, upgrades, and mission training capabilities.
Ensure cyber environments are aligned with Air Force doctrine, cyber TTPs, and emerging threats.

Cybersecurity Engineering & Integration
Develop secure configurations, boundary protections, and segmentation strategies.
Support integration of cyber ranges, mission systems, virtual infrastructure, and training networks.
Collaborate with instructors, operators, and engineers to build realistic cyberwarfare scenarios.

Security Compliance & Risk Management
Guide RMF requirements at the architectural level (SSP, controls, inheritance, system categorization).
Partner with ISSOs and ATO teams to ensure designs meet NIST and DoD security standards.
Recommend mitigations for technical and operational cybersecurity risks.

Threat-Informed Design
Incorporate threat intelligence and adversary TTPs into architectural decisions.
Evaluate vulnerabilities and design resilient architectures that support defensive and offensive cyber training.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration
Serve as the technical authority for cyber architecture across the 32nd WPS training environment.
Provide guidance to ISSOs, cyber analysts, and system administrators.
Work with operational squadrons, MAJCOMs, and joint partners to ensure interoperability

What You Will Do:
  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
  • Experience designing secure cyber, network, or virtualized architectures
  • Experience designing secure cyber, network, or virtualized architectures
  • Strong understanding of NIST RMF, DoD cybersecurity standards, and mission systems
  • Experience with VMware, virtual environments, or cyber ranges
  • Background in cybersecurity engineering, network engineering, or cyber operations
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to instructors, operators, and leadership
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
Preferred Experience:

Experience supporting Air Force cyber training, WIC courses, or cyber ranges
Experience with adversary emulation or threatinformed defense
Technical certifications (CASP+, CISSP, CCSP, CySA+, CEH, etc.)
Experience integrating cyber systems across classified networks and mission enclaves
