Job description

The Sr. Manager, CX Research, within the CX Research department, plays a pivotal role in shaping colleague-centric product development within Pfizer Digital & Technology, reporting to the Director, CX Research. This role leads moderately complex qualitative research, experimentation, and usability studies, manages cross-functional collaborations, and translates colleague insights into actionable product recommendations. This is a hands-on role: the Sr. Manager personally designs, executes, and analyzes research and experiments without reliance on external vendors, applies behavioral and telemetry data analysis to understand how colleagues actually work, and integrates AI into research workflows to move quickly from analysis to insight to action, all while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Personally design, execute, and analyze qualitative and quantitative research studies end to end including sampling, instrument design, and statistical analysis to uncover customer pain points and workflows, without reliance on external vendors.

  • Translate findings into actionable insights for product design and development.

  • Integrate AI into research workflows, using AI tools to accelerate study design, data collection, analysis, and synthesis while maintaining methodological rigor and quality.

  • Collaborate with product managers to prioritize features based on user impact and key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Manage multiple research projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, balancing competing priorities while ensuring strategic alignment.

  • Mentor junior researchers and promote best practices.

  • Advocate for customer-centric solutions within engineering teams.

  • Foster strong, strategic relationships with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment, trust, and collaboration on key business priorities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of experience or Master's in Human-Centered Design, Psychology, Market Research, or a related field; background in a quantitative or statistical discipline.

  • 7+ years with Bachelors or 5+ years with Masters in CX, user experience (UX), or product research, including hands-on execution and delivery of studies.

  • Proficiency in qualitative research, experimentation, and usability methods, with a strong applied statistics foundation including experimental design, power analysis, and significance testing applied to behavioral and telemetry data.

  • Hands-on researcher able to independently plan, field, and analyze qualitative studies, usability tests, and experiments without reliance on external vendors, using tools such as Python or R for behavioral and telemetry analysis, usability-testing platforms, and survey or statistical software (e.g., Qualtrics, SPSS) as needed.

  • Experience integrating AI into research workflows, using AI-driven research and analytics tools to accelerate the path from analysis to insight to action and improve the speed, scale, and quality of insights.

  • Comfortable managing multiple concurrent priorities and delivering in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in agile product development.

  • Ability to synthesize complex qualitative and behavioral data into compelling narratives.

  • Proficiency with UserZoom, Qualtrics, Medallia, or similar platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience applying behavioral insights in product design.

  • Strong project management and cross-functional leadership.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
