We have an exciting position as a Registered Nurse with Minute Clinic. You will be inan important roleas part of the clinic team. Under the leadership of a Minute Clinic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, the ancillary nurse will promotethe evidence-based practice in all patient encounters as they perform the major job responsibilities within the scope of their training. You willassistpatients with all clinical services available at our clinics. The ancillary nurse will perform tasks such as patient registration and intake,assistingwith wait roommanagementand other responsibilities to enhancethepatientexperience. Clinical responsibilities to include phlebotomy and specimen collection services, vaccine injection, patient assessment activities during intake such as vital signs, and performing diagnostic tests such as EKG, Retinopathy screening and point of care testing (including COVID testing).
You will provide excellent patient-focused activities and connections with your patients to meet our mission onto helppeople on their path to better health.
Clinic Operations Support is a major function of this role as you willparticipatedaily in equipment ordering and preparing the clinic for the best patient experience.
You will beassigneda homeclinic andmaybe requiredto float to cover other clinics to support business needs.
PRIMARY DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Phlebotomy and other Medical Services
o Perform blooddrawsandsendingsamples to a reference lab for processing.
o Able todemonstrateproper collection techniquesin accordance withthe laboratory collection services policy and procedure manual.
o Maintains knowledge of laboratory tests andappropriate computerordering codes.
o Process specimens maintaining specimen integrity according to individual test requirements.
o Collect and document vital signs on patients.
o Preparing,administeringand providing vaccination services.
o Collect hair and oral fluid specimen samples andsendto a reference lab for testing.
o Operate an EKG device for non-emergency readings on patients.
o Capture images of a patient's retina by using a fundus camera.
o Perform CLIA waived point of care testing on patients.
o May performadditionalmedical services that fall within the licensure of an Associate Nurse under the supervision of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
Patient-focused activities
o Assistwith patient registration, available to answer questions regarding MinuteClinic services.
o Assistwith managing patients in the waiting space and levelsetwait time expectations.
o Act as a chaperone if a patient or provider in the primary exam room requests one.
o Participate in community engagement outreach and initiatives to drive practice growth.
Clinic Operations Support
o Ordering andmaintainingadequate supplies for the clinic.
o Keeping clinical rooms clean,unclutteredand suitable for patient care.
o Follows universal precautions in cleaning up or disposing of any blood of body fluids.
Additional Duties
o Employeemaybe requiredto complete orbe responsible foradditionaljob duties as assigned by Nurse Practitioner, Senior Practice Manager, Senior Clinician or Area Director.
Required Qualifications
A Registered Nurse License must be full,activeand unrestricted in the State for which you are applying (This included a territory orCommonwealthof the United States or District of Columbia)
One year minimum related work experience in a healthcare settingrequired.
Experience documenting within an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systemrequired.
Proven ability to take vital signs, perform phlebotomy blood draws and perform Point of Care Testingrequired.
Verifiable current/active hands-on CPR Certification (Basic Life Supportand orAdvanced Cardiac Life Support).
Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
Desire anddemonstratedability to work independently.
Demonstrates initiative, problem solving ability,adaptabilityand flexibility.
Proven anddemonstratedclinical skills thatinclude:documentation of care, medication administration, infection control precautions, assessing patient educational needs, physical assessment, obtaining vital signs, carecoordination.
Preferred Qualifications
PreviousExperience working inaPrimary Care Clinic, Urgent Care Clinic, EmergencyRoomor Primary Physician's Office.
Prior experience in Phlebotomy or Specimen lab or collection site.
Experience with Epic.
Education
State approved or accredited licensedRN
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$21.10 - $43.78
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
