Position Summary:

CVS Health is seeking an experienced and patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to support its seasonal vaccination initiative. The RN will administer a variety of immunizations including Flu, COVID-19, MMR, and other vaccines while providing exceptional patient education and customer service in a retail healthcare environment.

This is a Float RN position, requiring flexibility to support vaccination efforts at assigned CVS locations as needed.
 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer vaccines including Influenza, COVID-19, MMR, Shingles, Pneumonia, Hepatitis, and Tdap.
  • Review patient medical history and assess eligibility for immunization.
  • Educate patients regarding vaccines, side effects, and preventative healthcare.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions following immunization.
  • Accurately document vaccinations and patient information.
  • Follow CDC guidelines and CVS vaccination protocols.
  • Maintain vaccine inventory and proper storage requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention and safety standards.
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced retail setting.
  • Collaborate effectively with pharmacists, healthcare professionals, and support staff.
Required Qualifications:
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Previous immunization/vaccination experience preferred.
  • Current AHA BLS certification.
  • Strong medication administration skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Must not be listed on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
  • Verifiable High School Diploma/GED and nursing education credentials.
Preferred Experience:
  • Retail clinic or pharmacy-based immunization experience.
  • Community health, occupational health, urgent care, or ambulatory care experience.
  • Experience administering high-volume vaccination clinics.
  • EMR/EHR documentation experience.
