Position Overview

CVS Health is seeking a compassionate and patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Vaccination Initiative team. The RN will provide immunization services in a retail healthcare setting, administering a variety of vaccines including Influenza, COVID-19, MMR, and other CDC-recommended immunizations. This is a patient-facing role that requires excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
 

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer immunizations including Flu, COVID-19, MMR, and other recommended vaccines following CDC and state guidelines.
  • Assess patients prior to vaccination and monitor for adverse reactions following immunization.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all vaccinations and patient encounters.
  • Educate patients regarding vaccine benefits, possible side effects, and post-vaccination care.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety protocols, and immunization best practices.
  • Maintain vaccine inventory and proper storage in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals to provide efficient patient care.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service while promoting a positive patient experience.
  • Adapt to changing workflows and support clinic operations as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Required Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, including immunization administration.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Experience administering multiple vaccines in accordance with clinical guidelines.
  • Strong assessment, documentation, and patient education skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced retail healthcare environment.
  • Must not be listed on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
  • Verifiable High School Diploma or GED (required).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous retail clinic, occupational health, public health, or vaccination clinic experience.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) documentation.
  • Strong customer service background.
  • Previous experience working with CVS Health or Aetna (preferred but not required).
