Job description

Since the early 1990's, SP3 pioneered the development of CVD diamond technologies. SP3 coats for its customers: cutting tools, silicon wafers, electrodes, CMP pad conditioners, consumables used in semiconductor etching equipment, as well as many other products.
Based in Silicon Valley, this American company has been fortunate to be able to build its team from some of the best and brightest in fields that matter to not only CVD diamond deposition, but to its practical application, in a way that enables our customers to have the best products for their needs. SP3 is part of the MAPAL Group since 2019. The MAPAL Group is an international supplier of precision tools for the machining of almost all materials. The family business has 5,000 employees worldwide and sees itself as a technology partner to its customers.
YOUR TASKS:
  • Using chemical, electrochemical and mechanical process to prepare customer supplied product for diamond adhesion
  • Operating CVD diamond coating equipment to diamond coat a variety of products
  • Operating ancillary equipment to post process the diamond coated product for improved function and appearance
  • Maintaining the work area in accordance with lab cleanliness and safety standards
  • Performing equipment total preventive maintenance (TPM), troubleshooting / repairs, implementing corrective actions to root causes and giving improvement recommendations for the overall of safety and performance of process equipment and the manufacturing systems
  • Inspect incoming, in process and outgoing product. To follow and improve the inspection process that will meet/exceed customer requirements and improve in house scrap
  • Implementation into the production environment of processes developed by Process Engineering and R&D

YOUR PROFILE:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Curiosity and a willingness to learn
  • Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude and basic problem-solving techniques
  • Ideally 3 - 5 years of experience in a high technology chemical or coating process manufacturing environment. Knowledge of thin film coatings and/or CVD/PVD processes desirable. Previous work in a cleanroom environment is a plus
  • Basic understanding of safety, health, and environmental practices
  • Experience following quality control procedures and meeting production standards
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Working knowledge of software programs and computers
  • High quality awareness
  • Ability to work multiple shifts
