Job description

The Packaging Machinery Field Service Technician at CVC Technologies supports customers primarily in the pharmaceuticals and food and beverage industries by providing expert electro-mechanical service for advanced packaging and labeling equipment. This role involves onsite repair, technical troubleshooting, installations, upgrades, and customer training. Working within a small field service team, the technician ensures operational excellence of CVC equipment through skilled application of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct onsite equipment repair and maintenance efficiently and professionally
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems to resolve technical issues
  • Perform equipment installations and upgrades, ensuring compliance with customer requirements
  • Provide user training and support to enhance customer operational knowledge
  • Interpret electrical drawings and utilize measuring instruments such as multi-meters and analyzers
  • Document service activities and maintain accurate records
  • Travel up to 65% with flexibility for short notice assignments
  • Work standard business hours, with occasional Saturdays and overtime as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of electro-mechanical field service experience
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot electronics, electrical, and mechanical systems with at least 80% competency on relevant tests
  • Basic knowledge of PLC device setup and troubleshooting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently
  • Valid California driver’s license, safe driving record, and dependable transportation with proof of auto insurance
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
  • Must pass drug screening, physical, and background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate of Science degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with CVC packaging equipment
  • Familiarity with interpreting electrical drawings and use of testing instruments
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, time management, self-motivation, and adaptability
