Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Acute Rehab RN for an inpatient hospital unit requiring an active IN or Compact license and prior travel experience.

Details
  • Acute inpatient rehab unit within a hospital setting
  • Cares for patients with endocrine/metabolic, neurological (CVA), gastrointestinal, and genitourinary/renal conditions
  • Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
  • Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
  • Meditech charting system experience preferred
  • Travel nurse pairs accepted, but must maintain flexible scheduling
Requirements
  • Active RN license (IN or Compact) currently in hand
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute rehab experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Skilled in blood glucose monitoring, insulin protocols, and IV therapy
  • Experience with port care and management
  • Proficient in fall risk assessment/prevention and pressure ulcer assessment/prevention
  • Wound care and feeding tube care/management experience
  • Swallowing precautions and Foley catheter removal experience
  • Pain assessment and management skills
  • Isolation precautions/PPE knowledge
  • Professional reference required from a direct supervisor within the last 12 months
Additional Information
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to acute rehab patients with a variety of complex conditions
  • Perform patient teaching as part of daily responsibilities
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
  • Past permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for consideration as travelers
  • First-time travelers are not eligible; previous travel experience is required for consideration
