Position Overview

The Fabric Cutter - Soft Shades is responsible for accurately cutting and racking soft shade fabrics to customer specifications. This role ensures production efficiency, quality control, and timely order fulfillment, directly supporting departmental goals and customer satisfaction.

What you'll do

  • Accurately cut and rack soft shade fabrics according to customer specifications.
  • Verify fabric and color against order and zone tickets for correctness.
  • Ensure fabric is neat, properly racked, and meets quality standards.
  • Use hand tools, cutting bars, and electric knives to perform cutting tasks.
  • Monitor and report defective goods to the cutting supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate records of cuts, re-cuts, and inventory adjustments.
  • Trim fabric salvage as needed to ensure product quality.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE during operations.
  •  All other duties as assigned

Who you are

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to accurately use and read a tape measure.
  • General knowledge of fabrics and hand-cutting techniques.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, cutting bars, and electric knives.
  • Must be capable of standing for extended periods (up to 7 hours per shift).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds regularly.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially with names, numbers, and fabric identification.
  • Must pass a color blind test to ensure accurate fabric identification.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with repetitive motions.
  • Must comply with safety protocols, including wearing closed-toe shoes and required personal protective equipment (PPE).
