Job description

Position Summary

This position is responsible for operating the Auto Cutting machine.

Essential Duties

  • Operate the Automated Fabric Cutter for maximum productivity, trouble-shooting any technical problems encountered
  • Pull and load materials to be cut according to the schedule date
  • If fabric is being cut, verify fabric number against tickets to be cut
  • Verify tickets for special instructions that would prohibit the use of a standard program on the Automated Fabric Cutter
  • Use of proper procedures to avoid defective areas on fabric to insure quality standards
  • Clean and perform preventive maintenance on the Automated Fabric Cutter daily
  • Notify the Supervisor of any problems encountered with the software, hardware, or cutting standards, as well as any supplies or materials needed
  • Work with CAD Room Technicians on problems encountered with marker layouts
  • Meet cutting room unit goals, minimizing repairs and maintaining acceptable fabric yields
  • Responsible for all aspects of the Automated Fabric Cutter machine to include operating, bundling, and maintenance
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor
  • Work safely at all times and implement lock out/tag out procedures when maintenance is being performed on the machine
  • Report any unsafe condition or practices to the Supervisor

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be able to read a ruler
  • Must be able to use a computer
  • Previous machine operation is preferred
