Job description

Position Summary
Position is responsible for all steps in the denim cutting process, including rolling, cutting, folding and repairing the fabric.
Position Details
  • Roll out, cut label and fold denim, fiber, girdle, and softique
  • Cut all repair denims and softique that are needed
  • Use schedule summary to determine what is needed for schedules. Finish each schedule before starting on the next one to keep the work flowing into the cutters and sewers.
  • Fold and store denims in proper bins
  • Take denim bundle and match it with the correct cover on the buggy and cover. Stage for leather cutters
  • Keep an adequate inventory of all needed supplies and report to leader when supplies are needed or low
  • Work with maintenance on knife repair
  • Report defective or shaded goods to supervisor
  • Do not make adjustments to patterns. Adjustments should be done by Product Development only.
  • Responsible for keeping work area neat and orderly.
  • Work safely at all times and wear all required personal protective equipment. Be sure to use lock out/tag out procedures before beginning set ups or machine adjustments.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or practices to the supervisor or lead person
  • Carry out any additional duties as assigned to you by the supervisor or lead person

Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous cutting experience a plus

  • Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks
  • Must be able to work in noisy environments
  • Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble product or operate machine as directed
  • Frequently lifting/carrying objects up to 50 lbs.; rarely lifting/carrying objects 51-75 lbs.
