Miller International, Inc., designer of Cinch® and Cruel®, is searching for its newest team member at our headquarters in Denver, Colorado!

We are seeking a Customs Compliance Specialist who will support the company's trade compliance program for Western apparel products. This role is responsible for managing import and export procedures to ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs laws.

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 Annually

As a Customs Compliance Specialist, you would be responsible for:

  • Maintain and update the company’s HTS classification database
  • Execute accurate HTS classification and valuation of products being imported/exported
  • Proactively review the importing process to ensure all items are compliant before being released to ship
  • Perform denied party screenings
  • Research and analyze products for qualification for free trade agreements
  • Collect and issue USMCA/CUSMA Certificates
  • Review broker documents to ensure accuracy
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams on customs-related matters
  • Identify potential compliance issues and implement corrective actions to prevent delays, fines, and disruptions to the supply chain
  • Contribute to the development of import/export control compliance measures
  • Recommend improvements to systems and procedures to enhance efficiency
  • Support the relationship with Customs Brokers and other related providers
  • Assist with requests for information from US Customs, other government agencies, Customs brokers, and freight forwarders
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all customs transactions
  • Other tasks as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in international trade, logistics, business, or a related field is typically preferred. Relevant experience in customs compliance, logistics, or supply chain management involving textile products is essential. Familiarity with international trade laws and regulations is crucial.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel; working knowledge of Cognos and Net Systems.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Proficiency in using compliance software and tools is also beneficial.

Other Qualifications

  • Strong organizational, time management, and follow-through skills.
