Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
In this role, you will serve as the regional customs compliance expert, partnering with business stakeholders and global customs teams to ensure efficient and compliant cross-border operations while driving implementation of new customs and trade-related requirements. You will play a key role in shaping and advancing regional customs compliance capabilities in an increasingly complex regulatory environment. This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of compliance, business operations and regulatory transformation, helping ensure that Konecranes remains compliant, resilient and prepared for future developments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customs Compliance & Governance
  • Oversee customs compliance activities across the region.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable import and export regulations.
  • Support compliance with customs classification, valuation, origin and declaration requirements.
  • Maintain customs governance frameworks, procedures and controls.
  • Support internal and external customs audits and corrective action programs.

Regulatory Intelligence & Future Readiness
  • Monitor regional regulatory developments and assess business impacts.
  • Act as the regional lead for customs and trade regulatory developments across region Americas, monitoring and driving compliance with evolving requirements including U.S. Section 232 and Section 301 measures, USMCA, forced labor legislation (UFLPA), anti-dumping and countervailing duties, trade remedies, customs modernization initiatives, and other customs and trade compliance developments affecting the region.
  • Translate regulatory changes into practical business requirements and implementation plans.

Operational Customs Support
  • Manage customs escalations and customs holds.
  • Support interactions with customs authorities and customs brokers.
  • Ensure customs documentation and declaration processes remain compliant and efficient.
  • Identify and mitigate customs-related operational risks.

Performance & Continuous Improvement
  • Define and monitor customs compliance KPIs.
  • Analyze customs performance, trends and risk indicators.
  • Drive process improvements and support automation initiatives.
  • Promote best practices and harmonization across the region.

Stakeholder Management & Training
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, Finance, Tax and other key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Global Customs and Classification teams.
  • Deliver customs training and awareness programs.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on customs and trade compliance matters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to assess regulatory changes and translate them into business actions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project management and change management capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of import and export compliance, customs valuation, rules of origin, customs classification, customs declarations and customs procedures.
  • Act as the regional lead for customs and trade regulatory developments across region Americas, monitoring and driving compliance with evolving requirements including U.S. Section 232 and Section 301 measures, USMCA, forced labor legislation (UFLPA), anti-dumping and countervailing duties, trade remedies, customs modernization initiatives, and other customs and trade compliance developments affecting the region.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Several years of experience in Customs Compliance, Trade Compliance, Customs Operations or a related area.
  • Experience working with customs regulations in an international business environment.
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance programs and customs process improvements.
  • Experience collaborating with customs brokers and authorities is considered an advantage.
