This is an interview position.
To provide extensive customs brokerage services in accordance with Canada Customs and other government departments (OGD) regulations and legislation pertaining to over sixty acts of legislation relating to International Trade; including but not limited to high and low value (HVS/ LVS) entry processing and customer consulting.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Educational Requirements

Post Secondary:

  • Community College Diploma/ EquivalentProfessional accreditation/certification:
  • Canadian Customs Specialist (CCS) or (CSCB) qualified professional designation.

Minimum number of years required for entry to this job

  • 2 years current customs brokerage experience OR
  • 2 years current rating and international experience OR

Other specific mandatory experience requirements- Incumbents must maintain their CCS designation when in this position. Must achieve annual recurrency points.

Technical Skill Requirements

Solid knowledge of the following:

  • Excellent Mathematical Skills
  • Knowledge of FedEx operations
  • Knowledge of International Customs documentation and regulations
  • In depth knowledge of customs, agriculture, food and drug, tariff and valuation laws and other government department laws and policies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of different agency clearance requirements and release processes required.
  • Excel - Basic
  • Minimum of 25 wpm on data entry alpha numeric testing preferred
  • Must have the ability to lift 70 lbs and maneuver any package weighing up to 150 lbs with the appropriate equipment if position is located at the following ports: YQG, YOW, YEG, YWG, YYC, YMX

Preferred Qualifications: Note 1: This is a hybrid position after training is completed & productivity levels are met. Successful candidate will need to be located in Western Canada. There are various shifts available. One (1) position is located in Winnipeg / YWG. Note 2: This is a temporary position for a period of up to 1 year in order to achieve experience levels. Candidates must have a minimum of 12 months rating experience.
