About the Opportunity

JORI Logistics is seeking a highly experienced Senior Canadian Team Lead/Customs Rater.

Reporting directly to the Manager of Canadian Operations, This position goes beyond day-to-day execution and plays a critical role as an educator, mentor, and strategic advisor to both internal teams and external clients.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, self-directed leader with deep regulatory expertise who can mitigate risk, improve compliance accuracy, and provide trusted guidance to both operations and client stakeholders. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



Customs Rating


  • Ensure all CAD are prepared accurately and submitted within CBSA pre- and post-payment timelines
  • Harmonized System Tariff Classification
  • Freight, Canadian Customs, and U.S. Customs processes and procedures
  • Trade agreements
  • Import and export of goods in various industries
  • Customer service or account management
  • Cargowise or equivalent business intelligence software platforms (asset)
  • A positive attitude and solutions-focused customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office, and CRM best practices
  • Corrections and Adjustment process under CARM considered an asset.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify error trends and implement corrective actions
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams to reduce recurring discrepancies
  • Provide expert mentorship, guidance, and support to junior team members and operations staff



    About You

    Required

    • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in Canadian customs brokerage and trade compliance
    • Deep working knowledge of the Customs Act, Customs Tariff, SIMA, and OGD/PGA requirements
    • Extensive hands-on experience managing CAD adjustments (formerly B2s) and CBSA compliance verifications within the CARM environment
    • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex regulations into actionable business guidance
    • Strong ability to operate autonomously while collaborating cross-functionally
    • Designation CCS (Certified Customs Specialist), CTCS (Certified Trade Compliance Specialist), or any professional customs designation.
