IT Manager
SUMMARY

The IT Manager is responsible for leading the organization’s information technology operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT support functions. This position oversees IT resources and service delivery while ensuring the reliability, security, and compliance of systems supporting business, engineering, manufacturing, and program operations. Experience supporting IT operations within a highly regulated, government-contracting, aviation, defense, manufacturing, or other compliance-driven environment is strongly preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES IT Operations & Infrastructure
  • Lead day-to-day IT operations, infrastructure, and technical support activities across the organization.
  • Manage and prioritize the workload of IT personnel to ensure timely resolution of technical issues and effective delivery of IT services.
  • Oversee the administration, maintenance, and lifecycle management of servers, networks, endpoints, cloud services, telecommunications, and other IT infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, systems, and infrastructure improvements to enhance security, reliability, scalability, and business performance.
  • Establish and maintain processes that maximize system availability, minimize downtime, and ensure rapid response to critical IT incidents.
  • Provide technical leadership and escalation support for complex infrastructure, networking, systems, and cybersecurity issues.
  • Coordinate IT support for new systems, technology deployments, upgrades, patches, migrations, and infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain appropriate redundancy and cross-training within the IT organization to minimize operational risk and single points of failure.
Cybersecurity, Compliance & Government Requirements
  • Lead implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of cybersecurity controls and solutions designed to protect company systems, networks, and data.
  • Ensure IT systems and processes comply with applicable federal contracting, cybersecurity, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Manage IT requirements associated with Microsoft GCC High, NIST SP 800-171, RTCA DO-392A, and other applicable regulatory, contractual, or customer-driven cybersecurity standards.
  • Support cybersecurity assessments, audits, gap assessments, remediation activities, and ongoing compliance initiatives.
  • Monitor and address vulnerabilities, security risks, system threats, and cybersecurity incidents.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate access controls, security policies, system configurations, and data protection practices.
  • Ensure IT policies, procedures, configurations, and security documentation remain current and audit-ready.
  • Manage software licensing, technology assets, and related compliance requirements.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
  • Develop, implement, test, and maintain the organization’s IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans.
  • Establish recovery strategies, backup processes, redundancy requirements, and disaster recovery procedures for critical IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Coordinate disaster recovery testing and document results, corrective actions, and recovery improvements.
  • Maintain multi-site and remote infrastructure capabilities to support business continuity and operational resilience.
  • Lead IT response and recovery activities during significant outages, cybersecurity incidents, infrastructure failures, or other business disruptions.
Business Systems & IT Integration
  • Support the integration and interoperability of business applications, databases, and IT systems across the organization.
  • Provide technical support for data transfers and integrations between SAP, Microsoft applications, and other enterprise systems.
  • Partner with Finance, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, HR, and other business functions to identify technology needs and develop effective IT solutions.
  • Support system implementations, upgrades, integrations, and process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve data accessibility, accuracy, and workflow efficiency.
IT Service Management & Documentation
  • Establish and maintain IT policies, procedures, standards, and technical documentation.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure, applications, configurations, security controls, disaster recovery, and operational processes.
  • Establish effective incident, problem, change, and asset management practices.
  • Monitor IT service performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure employees receive appropriate technical support, system access, and IT resources to perform their responsibilities effectively.
Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop IT personnel while establishing clear priorities, performance expectations, and areas of accountability.
  • Hire, train, and develop IT team members with an emphasis on technical depth, cross-training, and operational coverage.
  • Assign resources and priorities based on business requirements, criticality, and available capacity.
  • Establish a culture of accountability, technical ownership, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop IT strategies, budgets, technology roadmaps, and infrastructure investment plans.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, cybersecurity, network administration, enterprise applications, or a related IT discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or managing IT operations and technical teams in a corporate, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or other regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft enterprise environments, including Microsoft 365 and related identity, security, and administration technologies.
  • Experience managing servers, networks, endpoints, telecommunications/VoIP, cloud technologies, and enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, access controls, endpoint security, network security, and incident response.
  • Experience implementing or maintaining IT controls within a regulated or compliance-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with NIST SP 800-171 and cybersecurity requirements associated with U.S. government contracting.
  • Experience with Microsoft GCC High or other controlled/government cloud environments strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity strategies for critical IT systems.
  • Experience with IT infrastructure projects, system implementations, upgrades, migrations, and technology deployments.
  • Experience supporting ERP and enterprise application integrations, including SAP and Microsoft-based systems.
  • Strong understanding of IT service management, system documentation, change management, asset management, and operational controls.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide hands‑on technical leadership when necessary.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple IT initiatives and operational requirements.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with executive leadership and cross‑functional teams while maintaining appropriate IT security and compliance controls.
  • Ability to support critical IT incidents outside of normal business hours when required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field required
  • 5–10 years of progressive IT experience, with increasing responsibility for infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, or IT operations.
  • 3+ years of experience directly supervising or managing IT personnel.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, government contracting, manufacturing, or another highly regulated industry is strongly preferred.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, Microsoft certifications, or equivalent technical credentials are preferred.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation, as required by the position and applicable contracts.
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency is required.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Ability to participate in after‑hours support for critical IT incidents, system outages, cybersecurity events, scheduled maintenance, and emergency recovery activities.
