Stillwater Medical Health Information Services Customer Service Representative

Job Summary:

As a member of the Health Information Services Customer Service Team, the CSR will process requests for medical information from patients, other facilities, healthcare providers, and assist with medical records requests from 3rd party payers. The CSR is responsible for completing multiple tasks throughout the department to support patient care communications, maintain efficient workflow and high level of customer service.

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent customer services skills
  • Basic computer knowledge, with previous data entry experience
  • Ability to type 40 wpm
  • Ability to handle stressful situations in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Previous experience in a customer service role required. Experience in a medical environment (Health Information and/or Physician Office), preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to extensively utilize telephone for communication
  • Able to speak clearly and distinctly with staff, patients, and families
  • Able to bend, stretch and teach as necessary to file
  • Demonstrates adequate vision to prepare and read documents accurately
  • Demonstrates adequate stamina to deal with stressful situations to complete the necessary work schedule
  • Possess fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to manage office equipment
