Job description

The Operations Manager will be responsible for assisting the CSC Manager as well as carrying out direction and responsibilities to all operation associates,drivers and technicians.
A Day in the life of an Operations Manager:
  • Promote safety first in all actions
  • Assist in the hiring and training of operations associates including Right Way Training, Driver Tablet training, and CSR process training
  • Provide direction and guidance to all operations associates, drivers and technicians
  • Manage processes and corresponding systems
  • Review and make changes as needed to maintain the most efficient staffing of company units to achieve the highest utilization as possible
  • Prioritize loads for timely delivery
  • Work with fleet managers to assign loads to drivers in a fair and equitable manner
  • Provide efficient friendly customer contact
  • Control and complete paperwork and reports as required
  • Manage Fleet manager schedules and desk assignments
  • Communicate with all operations associates and drivers regarding company and customer requirements
  • Continually update knowledge of federal and state regulations
  • Communicate with internal and external customers as required

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Carries out duties assigned by center manager or regional manager as required
  • Work with and support the business development managers to grow the business
  • Responsible for overall CSC operations during the absence of the center manager

  • High School Education or equivalent
  • One year experience as a fleet manager in transportation industry

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, federal and state standards
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Self-starter with detail oriented work habits
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Display professional demeanor
  • Good interpersonal skills; able to work well with wide range of individuals
  • Demonstrate dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules
  • Basic computer skills, strong desktop and administrative skills
  • Knowledge of basic company employment policies and procedures

Physical Requirements:
  • Sitting for long periods of time, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, and talking, hearing and visual activity.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds).

Working Conditions:
  • Normal office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copier/printer/scanners.
