Job description

Universal Manufacturing & Design (UMD) is a growing manufacturer of premium gutter protection products serving dealers and distributors across North America. We are looking for an organized, customer-focused professional to join our team as a Customer Service Coordinator.

This position will work remotely until Summer 2027, when our new headquarters in Greenville, South Carolina is completed. At that time, this position will transition to an in-office role. Candidates should be willing to relocate or already live within commuting distance of Greenville by Summer 2027.

About the Position

As our Customer Service Coordinator, you will be the primary point of contact for customers after the sale. You'll work closely with our Customer Service Manager to ensure orders are processed accurately, payments are collected, customers receive timely updates, and every interaction reflects our commitment to exceptional service.

Responsibilities
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Process credit card payments and customer invoices
  • Provide order confirmations and shipment tracking information
  • Answer customer questions regarding products, orders, and deliveries
  • Coordinate with the warehouse and shipping department
  • Assist with dealer onboarding and dealer agreements
  • Coordinate shipment of dealer sample kits
  • Maintain accurate customer records in our CRM and ERP systems
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly
  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction
  • Support sales representatives with customer requests
  • Assist with administrative projects as needed
  • Travel occasionally to industry trade shows and conferences to assist with customer support and product demonstrations
  • Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience
  • Manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, or construction industry experience preferred
  • Experience processing customer orders
  • Experience handling customer payments
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • CRM and ERP experience preferred
  • Excellent phone and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
