Job Overview:

Custom Air Products & Services, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team. As an estimator, you will be an integral part of our Sales and Service Department, contributing to the growth and efficiency of our operations. Your primary responsibility will be to assess, analyze, and estimate service repairs and maintenance contracts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with customer expectations and company standards. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our sales team, service technicians, and management to comprehensively understand project scopes and specifications. Your keen attention to detail and analytical skills will be crucial in producing detailed bid work sheets based on customer requirements, project complexities, and industry standards.

Job Duties:

Project Scope Analysis:

  • Engage in comprehensive discussions with sales personnel, service technicians, and management to thoroughly understand project scopes and specifications.
  • Scrutinize and interpret intricate details to develop a nuanced understanding of customer requirements.

Bid Work Sheet Creation:

  • Leverage your expertise to produce meticulously detailed bid work sheets that encapsulate the intricacies of each project.
  • Incorporate a comprehensive breakdown of labor, material, and time requirements to ensure accuracy and transparency.

Customer Engagement:

  • Implement effective communication strategies, conducting regular follow-ups on open estimates to address inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.

Project Management Oversight:

  • Undertake the responsibility of managing service projects from initiation to completion.
  • Oversee the entire process, including generating estimates, obtaining purchase orders, ordering materials, entering calls into the company's system (GP), and coordinating deliveries to project sites.

Cost Analysis:

  • Employ analytical skills to compute costs associated with labor, materials, and time.
  • Ensure that cost estimations are not only accurate but also competitive in the market.

Discrepancy Resolution:

  • Proactively identify and resolve any discrepancies by collecting and analyzing pertinent information.
  • Act as a liaison between internal teams and customers to address concerns and maintain project integrity.

Code Compliance and Standards Adherence:

  • Collaborate closely with the sales and management teams to ensure that all estimates align with company standards and adhere to specific code requirements.
  • Uphold industry best practices and regulatory compliance throughout the estimating process.

Technical Knowledge Maintenance:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development by attending educational workshops and staying abreast of industry trends.
  • Regularly review technical publications to enhance and update your knowledge base.

Document Management:

  • Update essential documents, including "Master" bid sheets, parts order logs, and service call notes in the company's system.
  • Ensure meticulous record-keeping for streamlined project management and auditing processes.

Team Collaboration:

  • Actively participate in weekly meetings with the Service Department management team.
  • Contribute insights into part status, actively participate in weekly audits, and foster a collaborative team environment.
