Job Summary:
As a Customer Service Associate, you will be the voice of SLC, providing exceptional service through phone and email. You will be responsible for answering customer inquiries, taking orders, and educating our customers about our products.
Welcome to the SLC fast lane! Here, every day is a new adventure as you'll be tasked with making decisions that require you to think on your feet and deliver solutions that make a real difference. Prior customer service experience is required, but we will provide training to bring you up to speed.
This full-time, non-exempt position offers a comprehensive benefits package, making it an outstanding opportunity for those looking to advance their careers in the customer service field.
Position Details:
- Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, with one mandatory Saturday per month and two days off per week
- Average Hours: 40 hours per week
- Starting Wage: $16.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
- At SLC, you're not just a customer service associate, you're a Leather Guru! Over the phone, email, or chat, you'll provide personalized service that turns customers into lifelong friends of SLC.
- Manage incoming calls, place customer orders, online chats, written letters, and resolving customer issues efficiently.
- Deepen customer relationships by responding to inquiries, documenting actions, and providing support to ensure they excel in their craft.
- Prepare for customer inquiries by studying our products, services, and customer service processes through our training programs and other outlets.

- Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions within the time limits, and follow up to ensure resolution.
- Embrace challenges and make decisions in situations that don't always have clear-cut answers.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with office software and phone systems.
- Previous customer service experience is required. Experience in an educational or craft business is a plus.
- A heart as big as a buffalo hide! You have a passion for helping people and a drive to deliver outstanding service with every interaction.
- Strong verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse customers and coworkers.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Curiosity for knowledge to learn more about the products we offer.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including one mandatory Saturday per month.
