Kept Companies is the leading provider of commercial fleet washing, retail equipment refurbishing and sales, refrigeration, hood, coil and solar panel cleaning, and parking lot services.


The AutoMist Technician plays a vital role in the success of Kept Companies by performing scheduled monthly, quarterly, and hood and exhaust system cleaning services for restaurants and commercial kitchens. This position ensures that all work meets fire protection and safety guidelines, including NFPA 96 standards, while delivering exceptional service and maintaining company equipment to the highest standards.


The ideal candidate is professional, safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and capable of working independently in the field. All duties must be performed efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with company standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled commercial kitchen hood and exhaust system cleaning services monthly and quarterly inspections on the AutoMist system
  • Ensure compliance with fire protection and safety requirements, including NFPA 96 requirement
  • Inspect exhaust systems and document any NFPA 96 deficiencies for management and customer review
  • Troubleshoot technical and operational issues and implement effective solutions in the field
  • Safely install new systems and de-install (remove) equipment at customer locations
  • Complete work orders, inspection forms, and digital documentation using company mobile applications
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle in clean, safe, and fully functional condition
  • Follow all company safety procedures and standard of operations
  • Provide professional, courteous communication to restaurant staff and facility personnel and provide training
  • Participate in monthly travel assignments, including occasional single overnight stays


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Experience in commercial hood cleaning, fire protection services, mechanical work, or related fields preferred
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 96 standards (training provided as needed)
  • Comfortable using mobile applications and digital reporting tools as well as hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, overnight shifts, and select weekends
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
