Customer Returns Associate

USESI is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Customer Returns Associate to join our team. This position will be located in our Stoughton, MA location.
This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of customer returns, customer non-stock materials, and vendor-defective inventory. The ideal candidate is organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and comfortable moving material efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect customer-returned material to verify product, quantity, condition, and eligibility for return to stock.
  • Receive and process approved customer returns accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Return eligible material to the appropriate inventory or warehouse location to maintain accurate product flow and availability.
  • Identify damaged, defective, incorrect, or otherwise non-returnable material and route it appropriately for resolution.
  • Manage the physical handling and process control of customer non-stock material to ensure items are properly identified, tracked, and dispositioned.
  • Process and organize vendor-defective inventory, including identifying, separating, labeling, and staging material for appropriate disposition or vendor return.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and system transactions associated with returns, defective material, and inventory movement.
  • Research and communicate discrepancies involving returned material, quantities, product condition, or inventory status.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, sales, purchasing, and other internal teams as needed to resolve return and inventory issues.
  • Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move, stage, and store material.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks and move material efficiently while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and clearly identified return and defective-material areas.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, inventory controls, and warehouse operating standards.
  • Assist with general warehouse and inventory-related responsibilities as business needs require.

Qualifications and Skills
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Prior warehouse, receiving, inventory, or returns experience strongly preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred; training will be provided as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately inspect, identify, and process material.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Basic computer, math, reading, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and communicate issues clearly to the appropriate team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical warehouse tasks throughout the workday.
  • Comfortable working in variable warehouse conditions and operating material-handling equipment.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
