Overview:

NSI is a leading player in the natural private label food industry, dedicated to providing high-quality, organic, and sustainably sourced food products to consumers. We believe in promoting healthy and conscious eating choices, and our range of products reflects our commitment to quality and sustainability.

NSI is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Customer Operations Specialist to support day-to-day customer order management and operational coordination. Reporting to the VP of Sales, this role works closely with sales, operations, and accounting to ensure accurate order processing and a high level of customer service. This position is ideal for an early-career professional who thrives in a fast-paced CPG environment, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in delivering an exceptional customer experience. The Specialist will support end-to-end order execution, assist with logistics coordination, and help maintain strong relationships with retail customers.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer orders (manual + EDI) from PO receipt through delivery
  • Confirm order details and communicate ETAs to customers and distribution centers
  • Coordinate internally with Sales, Operations, and Accounting
  • Resolve order discrepancies and support invoice accuracy
  • Assist with transportation coordination and 3PL claims
  • Maintain accurate reporting in ERP (SAP Business One preferred)
  • Utilize customer portals and support compliance documentation
  • Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiencies


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with retail customers or supermarket chains is a plus
  • ERP experience (SAP Business One a strong plus)
  • Familiarity with EDI systems
  • Strong proficiency in Google Sheets and Google Workspace
  • Proficiency in MacOS
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills


Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field
  • 2–3 years of experience in customer operations, sales support, or order management (CPG/food industry preferred)


Work environment:

  • Remote work available but candidates must be living in close proximity to NSI’s office in Elmhurst, IL for in-person meetings. Please do not apply if you are not living at least 1-2 hours within this location.
