About this Position
THIS IS A STUDENT WORKER PART-TIME POSITION
The Event and Operations Assistant provides front-line customer service and operational support for campus events and daily facility operations. This position serves as a welcoming resource for students, faculty, staff, and visitors by managing the information desk, assisting with event technology, supporting retail operations, providing phone coverage, coordinating deliveries, and assisting with transportation requests as needed. The student worker plays an important role in ensuring a positive guest experience and the smooth operation of events and services.
This position offers hands-on experience in event operations, guest services, technology support, retail operations, and administrative services while contributing to a welcoming and engaging campus environment.
Required Qualifications
  • High School/GED
    • Current student enrolled at the university.
    (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and operate audiovisual and computer technology.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Comfortable interacting with diverse groups of people in a professional manner.
  • Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and handle information responsibly.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous customer service, retail, event support, or office experience.
  • Experience working with audiovisual equipment or event technology.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and campus software systems.
  • Experience handling cash transactions and maintaining records.
