RW Zant, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to expand our custom cut protein business throughout Southern California and beyond.

If you're a results-driven sales professional with experience in protein, meat, poultry, beef, pork, foodservice, or wholesale food distribution, this is an exciting opportunity to join an industry leader known for quality products, exceptional service, and lasting customer relationships.

In this role, you'll develop new business opportunities, strengthen key customer partnerships, and work closely with production and operations teams to deliver customized protein solutions that help our customers succeed.

What You'll Do

As our Business Development Manager, you will:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow custom cut poultry, beef, pork, and protein product lines.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across wholesale, foodservice, institutional, and retail markets.
  • Expand existing customer relationships through strategic account management and consultative selling.
  • Negotiate pricing and business agreements while maintaining profitability goals.
  • Prepare customer presentations, proposals, and business reviews.
  • Collaborate with Production, Operations, Customer Service, and Leadership to ensure outstanding customer experiences.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, account plans, and performance reporting.
  • Travel regularly throughout your assigned territory to meet with customers and develop new business.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications

✔ Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)

✔ 5+ years of Business Development, Outside Sales, or Account Management experience

✔ Experience in the meat, poultry, protein, foodservice, food manufacturing, or food distribution industry

✔ Proven success developing new business while growing existing customer accounts

✔ Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills

✔ Excellent communication and organizational abilities

✔ Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

⭐ Experience selling custom cut protein products

⭐ Knowledge of USDA and FDA regulations

⭐ Bilingual (English/Spanish)

⭐ Experience working with cold chain logistics or perishable food products
