Business Development Executive – HR & Business Solutions

Up to $65,000 Base + Commission

Well established professional services organization in the Akron area that is looking to add a Business Development Executive to its growing team.

This is a consultative B2B sales role focused on helping small and mid-sized businesses solve real challenges related to HR, employee benefits, compliance, recruiting, compensation, training, and workforce management.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, networking in the local business community, developing new business, and owning the sales process from initial conversation through close.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Develop new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, community involvement, and company-generated leads
  • Build relationships directly with business owners, executives, and key decision-makers
  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand each company's HR, benefits, workforce, and operational needs
  • Manage a consistent pipeline of prospects and opportunities
  • Present customized proposals and recommendations to prospective clients
  • Sell and cross-sell HR consulting, employee benefits, insurance-related services, recruiting, compensation consulting, training, and other workforce solutions
  • Develop referral partnerships throughout the Northeast Ohio business community
  • Attend local networking events, chamber events, associations, and community functions
  • Partner with internal HR consultants and benefits specialists throughout the sales process
  • Coordinate the onboarding and transition of new clients
  • Maintain accurate prospecting, pipeline, and client activity within the CRM
  • Continue developing existing client relationships and identify additional service opportunities

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of B2B sales, business development, account management, or client-facing experience
  • Experience selling directly to business owners or small/mid-sized companies
  • Strong prospecting and new-business-development skills
  • Comfortable with cold outreach while also working company-generated leads
  • Consultative sales approach, able to understand a client's business before recommending a solution
  • Strong relationship-building, presentation, and communication skills
  • Comfortable attending networking and community events
  • Experience using a CRM to manage leads and sales activity
