Customer Service associates are responsible for creating a positive and personal experience for every customer. The Customer Service associate will operate the register, handle cash, and be knowledgeable about store products and promotions to resolve customer inquiries and issues. This role also involves training new cashiers and assisting with other front-end projects as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store
  • Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and consistently meeting the goals of the digital receipt program
  • Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the store
  • Treat merchandise with care, and bag purchases carefully and efficiently
  • Promote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefits
  • End each transaction by saying "thank you" to every customer
  • Operate the register system, follow all cash handling policies, and be knowledgeable in store products and policies as they pertain to customer service
  • Resolving problems that involve several variables in standardized processes
  • Perform basic math, calculate discounts, make change, and accurately balance the cash drawer
  • Maintain an awareness of in-store events and promotions
  • Complete Customer Service projects and delegate to other cashiers when needed
  • Assist in the training of new Customer Service Associates and Cashiers
  • Assist with all other duties as assigned
  • Ability to work assigned schedule, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Education & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1+ years of cashiering experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
