Jumoke Academy is seeking for a full-time CUSTODIAN for school year 2026-2027 at its Thelma Ellis Dickerson Elementary Campus.
The position works Monday to Friday at 37.5 hours a week and must be able to report to work in person every day.
Job Description: Custodian
The Custodian is responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance, and other miscellaneous duties to ensure that school buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner. The Custodian reports to the Facilities Supervisor and cares for the school building and facilities equipment. Maintaining these responsibilities will help to ensure the health, safety and security of the public.
Responsibilities:
1. Clean and care for buildings and facilities to ensure they are maintained in a safe and healthy manner. Responsibilities are to include, but not limited to: โ€ข Clean offices, meeting spaces and school building and facilities. โ€ข Mop tile and concrete floor areas. โ€ข Vacuum all carpeted areas. โ€ข Dust all furniture and fixtures. โ€ข Wash and disinfect all washroom floors, toilets, toilet seats, hand dryers and fixtures. โ€ข Clean all mirrors. โ€ข Replenish toilet issue and soap as needed. โ€ข Empty all waste baskets and garbage cans. โ€ข Place garbage in outside storage bins. โ€ข Clean entrance and exit including glass, doors, and hardware. โ€ข Keep the outside area near exit and entrance clear of snow, cans, paper, etc. โ€ข Clean, wash and disinfect drinking fountains. โ€ข Wash all finger marks from walls, doors, hardware, and glass. โ€ข Perform and/or report minor maintenance repairs. โ€ข Clean kitchen sinks and counters. โ€ข Report damages and acts of vandalism. โ€ข Wash and buff floors with floor polisher. โ€ข Wash entrance and exit floors. โ€ข Spot clean walls and toilet partitions.
2. Maintain storage areas and cleaning equipment, materials and supplies in a safe and orderly manner to ensure the safety of staff and the public. Secure storage areas. โ€ข Ensure cleaning materials and supplies are stored in a safe and orderly manner. โ€ข Maintain an adequate supply of cleaning materials supplies. โ€ข Restock materials and supplies. โ€ข Make note of the need for equipment repairs.
3. Perform other related duties as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge The custodian must have proficient knowledge in the following areas: ?
