Job Overview

The Custodial Manager will be responsible for coordinating and directing operations to carry out contractual responsibilities of the company including all necessary planning, supervision, budgeting, vendor and supply contact, customer relations and other high level managerial responsibilities.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensure assigned area is cleaned correctly and according to the customer's standards

  • Maintain a daily work schedule to ensure adequate service

  • Prepare schedules for personnel

  • Assign personnel to routes

  • Assist personnel to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner

  • Inspect and evaluate physical condition of establishment for program compliance, i.e. safety, quality, and service

  • Audit and maintain inventory supplies and equipment

  • Investigate and promote improved equipment and methods

  • Review customer requests for service to ascertain cause for service request, type of malfunction, and address with manager

  • Implement and communicate organization policies and goals with personnel

  • Inspect plant and evaluate use of space and facilities

  • Assist with plans, budgets, and schedule modifications such as cost estimates bid sheets

  • Coordinate program specifications, requirements for proposals and contracts

  • Collect data for preparing estimates, labor hours, and expenses

  • Maintain contact with contractors to ensure the smooth working of the contract process

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, such as, FLSA, OSHA, ADA, etc.

  • Communicate with customers, upper management, and employees on a consistent basis

  • Assist with human resource concerns and issues

  • Interview, hire, plan, assign, and direct work to employees

  • Ensure each team member works in conformance with SBM policies and procedures

  • Maintain a safe work environment for employees

  • Ensure operational excellence through training, coaching, disciplining, and encouragement of team members

  • Address complaints and resolve problems

  • Monitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipment, and supplies

  • Provide recommendations for corrective action on areas that need improvement

  • Track employee attendance and report hours worked to the payroll department

  • Direct supervisory management engaged in support of facilities programs

  • Correct at risk behavior and reports to the supervisor immediately

Qualification

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/ or Experience:Bachelor's degree in Business Management, or a related field from a four-year college or university with 3-5 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:May be required to have a valid driver's license.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluations; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensure employees are properly trained on tasks and safety requirements.
