Job description

ACES Chase Academy, a Magnet Schools of America national school of excellence, is seeking a dedicated and passionate middle school Social Studies Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to fostering academic growth and social development in middle school students. Opportunities to move to our high school program in the future are available.
Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum: Implement a comprehensive social studies curriculum aligned with state standards and school objectives. A project-based learning curricular approach is utilized at the school.
  • Effective Instruction: Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that promote critical thinking, historical inquiry, and active participation. Differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Design and administer formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Classroom Management: Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning. Set clear expectations for behavior and classroom routines. Leverage restorative practices, where appropriate/
  • Parent and Community Engagement: Foster open communication with families through regular updates, conferences, and involvement in school events. Engage with the local community to enhance the social studies program.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with educational trends, research, and best practices in social studies education. Attend professional development opportunities to continually improve teaching skills.

  • Valid Connecticut 026 History & Social Studies, 4-12 certification.
