POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Project Manager at LJA Land Development, you will be responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating engineering for a wide variety of land development projects including residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, resort, recreation, infrastructure, and attraction of various types and sizes, some of which may have unique or controversial conditions. 

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

  • Project coordination from inception to completion, including due diligence, planning, entitlements, civil engineering design, regulatory permitting and approvals through local, state, and federal permitting agencies and construction administration support.
  • Project management tasks including budgeting, scheduling, coordination of outside consultants, project tracking and project billing.
  • Preparing and overseeing civil engineering design for site geometry, grading, drainage, roadway, water distribution, wastewater collection/transmission, parks, and other civil improvements.
  • Preparing and overseeing development of design drawings, technical specifications, reports, cost estimates and other project deliverables.
  • Analyzing technical information, performing engineering calculations, and advancing design concepts into effective and financially feasible engineering designs.
  • Authoring technical reports such as due diligence reports, feasibility reports, design reports, and technical memoranda
  • Providing technical support throughout all project stages from request for proposal through final design and construction.
  • Serving as Engineer of Record for various projects and/or project tasks.
  • Preparing and participating in client meetings and presentations.
  • Providing leadership and guidance for project engineers and design technicians.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Professional Engineering license.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 8 years’ progressive experience in design and management of land development projects.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Highly organized with good time management skills.
  • Sufficient familiarity with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Civil3D,
