Job description

Schylling is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Product Development Project Manager to oversee the development of our toy and gift products from concept approval through first factory delivery. This role is responsible for managing Schylling's product development milestone process, maintaining project schedules, tracking milestones, and driving accountability across cross-functional teams.
Working within NetSuite ERP, the Product Development Project Manager serves as the central coordinator for new product development projects, ensuring products progress efficiently through each phase of development while maintaining visibility, identifying risks, and facilitating communication among stakeholders. This role partners closely with Product Development, Purchasing, Quality, Operations, Sales, Marketing, and overseas manufacturing partners.
Key Responsibilities.
Milestone Process Ownership:
  • Own and administer Schylling's product development milestone process from concept approval through first factory delivery.
  • Ensure projects advance through each stage only after required deliverables and approvals have been completed.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and milestone status within NetSuite ERP.
  • Schedule and facilitate project review meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Monitor adherence to development processes and drive accountability across departments.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, visibility, and execution.

Project Management:
  • Manage the end-to-end product development critical path across all active projects.
  • Maintain project schedules, milestone dates, and deliverables within NetSuite ERP.
  • Monitor progress against development timelines and proactively identify potential delays, risks, or resource constraints.
  • Drive accountability across teams to ensure milestone completion.
  • Escalate timeline, quality, or resource concerns when necessary.
  • Lead regular project status reviews and communicate progress to stakeholders.

Process Administration:
  • Serve as the primary owner of the product development milestone process within NetSuite.
  • Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of project, item, and milestone data.
  • Monitor workflow compliance and data integrity across all development projects.
  • Develop and maintain project reports, dashboards, and tracking tools.
  • Partner with internal teams to continuously improve product development workflows and reporting capabilities.

Cross-Functional Coordination:
  • Coordinate activities among Product Development, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Operations, Sales, Marketing, and manufacturing partners.
  • Track completion of critical deliverables, including design approvals, costing, packaging, testing, compliance documentation, sample approvals, and production readiness activities.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment among stakeholders throughout the development process.
  • Ensure project risks and delays are identified, communicated, and managed proactively.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of project management, product development coordination, or related experience.
  • Experience working with ERP systems; NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred:
  • Experience in the toy, consumer products, gift, or import manufacturing industries.
  • Familiarity with overseas manufacturing and sourcing processes, particularly in China.
  • Experience managing product development schedules, critical paths, or milestone processes.

The base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $110,000. Offered base compensation within this range will be determined based on a candidateโ€™s qualifications, experience, geographic location and other factors relevant to the scope and responsibilities of this role.
