3DE by Junior Achievement is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming high school education. 3DE was designed with and is implemented in partnership with school districts to make high school more relevant, experiential, and connected to the real world through project-based learning, case methodology, and competency development. Our goal is to prepare students for the demands of tomorrow's economy, providing them with the opportunity for a choice-filled life.

Position Summary

The Director, Curriculum Developer, Special Curriculum Projects designs, writes, and produces high-quality student- and teacher-facing curriculum materials that advance 3DE's instructional model, case methodology, and network-wide implementation priorities. With a particular focus on special curriculum projects, research and development, and digital production, this role converts instructional concepts, research, and subject matter expertise into polished, engaging, classroom-ready resources that can scale across 3DE's growing network of high schools.

Working closely with content development, publishing, operations, instructional designers, subject matter experts, and field teams, the Curriculum Developer ensures materials are instructionally aligned, accessible, practical for educators and students, and consistent with 3DE's established curriculum frameworks, brand, style, and instructional design standards. The role balances creativity and innovation with fidelity to established frameworks and implementation realities, incorporating research, stakeholder feedback, and field insights to continuously strengthen curriculum products and the student and teacher experience.

Success in this role requires strong curriculum writing and instructional design skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams while independently managing multiple deliverables, feedback cycles, and evolving project needs.

Key Responsibilities Curriculum Writing & Development
  • Write and develop student- and teacher-facing curriculum materials aligned with 3DE's instructional model, case-based learning approach, competency framework, and established curriculum design expectations
  • Converts instructional concepts, outlines, research, and subject matter input into clear, engaging, classroom-ready curriculum resources
  • Develop lessons, activities, teacher guidance, student materials, assessments, implementation supports, and supplemental resources for special curriculum projects
  • Apply 3DE's established brand, style guide, voice, formatting conventions, and curriculum framework consistently across deliverables
  • Update existing curriculum materials to strengthen clarity, coherence, usability, accessibility, and alignment with instructional goals
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback with flexibility and attention to instructional quality and practical implementation needs
Learning Management System & Digital Production
  • Collaborate with the publishing team to prepare curriculum content for deployment, including LMS pages, digital assets, downloadable resources, embedded supports, and related implementation materials
  • Apply accessibility best practices to digital and print-ready curriculum materials, including clear structure, readable formatting, alt-text guidance, and inclusive design considerations
  • Support quality assurance processes by reviewing curriculum content for accuracy, consistency, functionality, and alignment with user experience expectations
  • Contribute to reusable templates, production guidelines, and documentation that support efficient curriculum publishing and implementation
Special Curriculum Projects
  • Collaborate across teams to clarify project goals, define deliverables, manage revisions, and ensure curriculum products meet quality expectations and timelines
  • Develop and pilot new instructional resources, supplemental materials, and tools that respond to strategic priorities within 3DE's high school model and align with product requirements
  • Develop guidance, training-adjacent materials, and implementation documentation that help educators and internal teams effectively use curriculum resources
  • Incorporate feedback from instructional designers, subject matter experts, implementation teams, educators, and field users to refine curriculum products for clarity, usability, and scalability
  • Maintain organized project files, version histories, source materials, production notes, and documentation of key design and revision decisions to support efficient collaboration, institutional knowledge, and future curriculum updates
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or educator certification in Curriculum Development, Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field
  • Experience writing and developing turnkey Kโ€“12 instructional resources for teachers and students, including lessons, activities, assessments, facilitation guidance, and implementation supports
  • Strong curriculum writing and instructional design skills, with demonstrated ability to convert complex concepts, research, and subject matter expertise into clear, engaging, classroom-ready resources
  • Understanding of standards alignment, assessment design, scaffolding, teacher facilitation needs, and student-centered learning experiences
  • Ability to work within established style guides, curriculum frameworks, templates, brand standards, and production expectations with consistency and precision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple deliverables, feedback cycles, priorities, and deadlines
  • Flexible and solutions-oriented approach, with the ability to incorporate feedback and adapt to evolving project needs while maintaining quality and attention to detail
  • Experience with career and technical education, business education, project-based learning, case-based learning, competency-based education, or similar experiential learning models
  • Experience developing curriculum materials for use within a learning management system or digital learning platform
  • Familiarity with accessibility best practices for print and digital curriculum materials
  • Familiarity with HTML, digital media, or web-based content production
Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $77,000 to $90,000 annually, with the exact salary depending on relevant experience, demonstrated impact, and alignment with the scope and responsibilities of the role.
