Wyckoff Country Club is seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a professional hospitality environment serving both members and guests in a dynamic country club setting.

The Sous Chef plays an important leadership role in the kitchen by assisting the Head Chef in managing daily culinary operations, supporting kitchen staff, and ensuring that all food served meets the high standards of quality and presentation expected at Wyckoff Country Club.

Position Overview

The Sous Chef assists in overseeing kitchen operations, supporting food preparation, maintaining food safety standards, and helping lead the culinary team during service. This position is ideal for a culinary professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and food production. • Supervise and support kitchen staff including line cooks and prep cooks. • Ensure food quality, consistency, and proper presentation. • Support the preparation and execution of restaurant service, banquets, tournaments, and special events. • Maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. • Assist with inventory management, food ordering, and product rotation. • Help manage portion control, waste reduction, and food cost awareness. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. • Provide leadership and guidance to culinary team members during service.

Qualifications

• Culinary training or equivalent professional kitchen experience preferred. • Minimum 3–5 years of kitchen experience, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred. • Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or country clubs is highly desirable. • Strong organizational and communication skills. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment. • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
