Job description

Purpose: Purpose: Scan items, ensure that prices are quantities are correct, and collect payments. They also assist customers by explaining or recommending items, answering questions, Maintain a clean workspace.

Job Duties:

  1. Basic Responsibilities
    1. Welcoming customers, answering their questions, helping them locate items, and providing advice or recommendations.
    2. Operating scanners, scales, cash registers, and other electronics.
    3. Bagging or wrapping purchases to ensure safe transport, keeping in mind managing our resources.
    4. Follow all store procedures regarding the purchase of specific items, such as alcohol or cigarettes.
    5. Maintaining a clean workspace.
    6. Perform other tasks assigned by Manager
  2. Customer Service
    1. Know the purpose of all popular over the counter medicine and be able to direct the customer to appropriate area.
    2. Know or be able to recognize all major cigarettes and tobacco products
    3. Learn check cashing procedures
    4. Know how to properly sell lotto/scratch off and be able to validate them.
    5. Know how to properly use the service of Sin Pin, Boss Revolution (National & International top-ups) and be able to register them properly in register.
    6. Answer the phone using the correct answering phrase, taking orders, resolving and customer questions, and delegating call to designated person if not sure of how to answer.
    7. Be able to use money transfers on all platforms available. Always following protocol for money transfers (Verifying valid ID, client signature on all documents needed). Knowing how to make cancelations or corrections on all money transfers.
    8. Be able to generate a money order, and help customer fill it out if time permits.
    9. Be able to make utility payments on all platforms.
  3. Food Service
    1. Be able to recognize and/ or serve the correct portions of food.
    2. Be able to work scale
    3. Make sure all our food leaves store presentable, with cutlery & napkins
    4. Be able to prepare and make the American coffee off dispensers
    5. Be able to recognize the major ingredients in prepared meals.
    6. Make quality Café Con leche and all Cuban coffee products.
  4. Merchandising
    1. Able to rotate bread from bakery
    2. Able to rotate and organize all merchandise in store.
    3. Be recognize items that are out of date and notify manager, to receive credit for merchandise.
    4. Be able to receive merchandise from vendor correctly, by comparing it to orders forms made by manager.
  5. Maintenance
    1. Clean & sanitize all large equipment
    2. Sweep and mop store.
    3. Dust and maintain all aisle and merchandise and store looking clean.
    4. Clean maintain bathrooms
    5. Clean store front, back area.
    6. Refill bags, cutlery and any type of material that is low.
  6. Leadership
    1. Take an initiative within the store, presentation and with the customer service.
    2. Support others with the activities that you have learned and have become proficient in. Organize the team if they seem disoriented on task.
