Responsibilities
Instruction & Credentialing
  • Teach assigned Industry Recognized Credentials following the school's course of study.
  • Utilize technology and varying teaching modalities to routinely incorporate real-world work content, especially in trades for which our school provides certification courses.
  • Facilitate Industry Recognized Credential(s) within the building at a regular cadence during the CTE block of daily instruction.
  • Gather necessary documentation when a student completes a course, including course completion forms and proper vendor certificates.

Student Advisement & Support
  • Maintain a caseload of advisees and meet with them on a regular basis to review Success Plans, attendance, and progress.
  • Motivate students to achieve full academic goals by filling out their daily Goal Sheet upon entering the classroom.
  • Monitor assignment completion during the day, sign off on daily Goal Sheets, and provide frequent student feedback.
  • Keep accurate records and articulate Grad Planners to each student so they know earned credits, current schedules, and remaining classes.
  • Establish and maintain a positive rapport with students and families while participating in student retention and engagement events.
  • Facilitate the completion of the OMJReadiness Seal for advisees.

Data & Systems
  • Update and maintain the CTE trackers including scheduling, progress, and completion.
  • Employ data to personalize instruction and assessment to student needs, helping students fill gaps and see their own growth.
  • Maintain a positive school environment through effective conflict resolution, collaboration, and positive reinforcement.

Professional Alignment
  • Attend monthly staff MTSS meetings to review student progress and participate in school-wide PBIS.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities, including TBTs and BLTs.
  • Maintain confidentiality concerning all student information and any professional matters.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Satisfactory completion of federal and state required criminal history check.
  • Valid CTE teaching license (or the ability to secure CTE teaching license).
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Google Suite, MS Office Suite, e-mail, and internet applications.
  • Strong content knowledge in one or more content areas.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, and move around the building.

Useful / Preferred
  • Master's degree.
