Job Description
AECOM's Water Business Line is seeking a Wastewater Project Manager with a passion for wastewater treatment plant evaluation, design, and construction. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an established career serving as a client-facing project manager on regional and municipal wastewater treatment projects and collection systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to immediately contribute to an established and successful wastewater practice in the Greater Hartford, Connecticut area and New England working on a diverse range of technically challenging projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead multi-discipline and complex wastewater design projects from the planning through permitting and construction phases.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients with multiple projects to approved scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Perform engineering technical reviews and implement AECOM quality standards.
  • Point of contact internally and externally for projects and clients in southern New England.
  • Develop and mentor mid-level and junior staff for career development.
  • Support business development activities, including technical and cost pricing efforts for proposals.
  • Opportunity for participation in water and wastewater organizations through presentations at conferences and volunteering.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering with 6+ years of related experience in water and/or wastewater treatment, pumping and collection systems or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in CT or ability to obtain within one year.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review.

Preferred Capabilities:
  • 10+ years of related experience in wastewater consulting and engineering management.
  • Previous experience leading scope, technical approach and pricing efforts for leading business development activities.
  • Previous water and/or wastewater treatment, pumping stations, collection systems and client relations experience.
  • Previous experience leading client and public presentations
  • Ability to work collaboratively and motivate staff and project team.
  • Experience with water treatment engineering.

  • This position requires travel within CT and nearby states.
  • Relocation is available for this position.
