Job description

Job Overview:
The Floater will be responsible for performing any duties in the Shipping Dept . This is an on-site hourly position and will require a daily presence at our RectorSeal Houston, TX facility.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist in all daily operations.
  • Process (Pack and Ship) orders accurately (Parcel, LTL, TL).
  • Inspect product for damages, report as needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols and warehouse procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse environment.
  • Equipment maintenance and upkeep.
  • Routine cleaning duties.
  • Interface with management to ensure key objectives are realized.
  • Listen and follow instructions from supervisor.
  • Pick customer orders accurately according to our Picking Procedure.
  • Operates shrink-wrap machine to package finished products.
  • Apply appropriate shipping labels to wrapped pallet.
  • Performs minor adjustments on machine to accommodate different products to be wrapped.
  • Inspects and removes visible damaged products.
  • Use hand scanner to Pack confirm (dimensioner) process.
  • Transports finished pallets to proper dock location.
  • Notifies supervisor or appropriate staff when supplies need to be ordered.
  • Load trailers & containers as required.

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School diploma (or equivalent).
  • 3+ years' experience in Picking and Fulfilling Orders.
  • 3+ years' experience in operating a Reach Truck.
  • 3+ years' experience in operating Electric Pallet Jack.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity necessary for work, must be able to lift or move at least 50 lbs. unassisted and stand for prolonged periods.
  • Experience in warehouse setting.

Skills/Competencies:
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience using hand-held scanners.
  • Able to work independently and safely.
  • Proficient in speaking, reading and writing in English. Spanish a plus but not required.
  • Basic Arithmetic skills involving addition, subtraction, multiplication.
  • Computer Skills.

Preferred Requirements:
  • Proficient in JDE & DSI preferred.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
