Department

The University Outreach department within the Division of Student Affairs serves prospective and incoming students, and any other interested parties in the information seeking and application process, as it relates to the California State University system and Cal State Fullerton specifically. Our office provides campus tours, informational workshops, new and transfer student orientations, and general information. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Campus Tours Coordinator (Student Services Professional II). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Director of Outreach, Recruitment, and Orientation and under the lead of the Associate Director, Outreach, Recruitment, and Orientation, the Campus Tours Coordinator plays a key role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of campus visit programs that provide prospective students, guests, and community members with an engaging and informative campus experience. This position oversees group tour programming, supports daily tour operations, supervises and develops student staff, and manages communications with community partners. The coordinator contributes to program assessment, marketing and outreach efforts, and operational logistics to ensure the effective implementation and continuous enhancement of high-quality campus visit experiences. Responsible for various aspects of large-scale event planning such as Fall in Love with Cal State Fullerton, Experience CSUF, CSUF Super Sunday, and other events. Other related duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration or a job-related field and two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or a related field. A master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience. Additional specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

General knowledge of the methods and problems of organizational management, research, and interview techniques. Ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations, obtain factual and interpretative information through interviews, and advise students individually and in groups on complex student-related matters. Ability to reason logically and use initiative in planning work assignments and in implementing long-range program improvements. Ability to plan, develop, coordinate, supervise, and organize programs and activities. Ability to interact with a diverse student population, faculty, staff, and the public. Ability to analyze complex situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals.ย Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to acquire knowledge of campus procedures, activities, and of the overall organization.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position. ย 

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited college or university. Excellent written communication skills in a customer service environment. Ability to interact with various student population, faculty, staff, and the public. Experience using computer software programs for organizing, workshop development, correspondence, and student tracking databases.

License/Certifications
