Job Description

The Facility Security Officer (FSO) is responsible for ensuring full compliance with Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), and company security requirements at a complex multibuilding cleared facility.

This role provides direct support to government customers, ensures the protection of classified information, and maintains the integrity of personnel, physical, and administrative security programs. The FSO will serve as the primary site security lead, partnering closely with program management, government representatives, and internal stakeholders.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Facility Security Officer (FSO), the work youll do at GDIT will be impactful.

Protect classified government information and ensure compliance with all personnel, physical, administrative, and program security standards.
Create, issue, and program employee badges for site access.
Conduct new-hire, annual security briefings and debriefings, as well as security education and awareness programs.
Investigate security incidents, losses, and violations; recommend and implement corrective actions.
Maintain and audit classified storage areas, documents, and associated records.
Provide security oversight for closed areas and restricted spaces.
Manage and retain customer records and audit documentation.
Conduct biannual self-inspections in accordance with NISPOM and DCSA requirements.
Interface routinely with program management to address program-specific security requirements.
Deliver security briefings, presentations, and written guidance to employees and stakeholders.
Process and safeguard Personally Identifiable Information (PII), Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), and other sensitive information in accordance with DoWI 5200.48. DoWM 5400.07 and DoD Freedom of Information Act Program. .
Apply physical and procedural security measures that protect personnel while minimizing operational impact.
Maintain, audit, and continually improve the industrial security program to protect employees, assets, and classified materials.
Represent the organization during interactions with senior leaders, site management, and government representatives.
Interpret, administer, and revise security policies, processes, and procedures as needed.
Process new employee security clearance requests.
Track security clearance investigations and support Personnel Security (PERSEC) functions, including DISS and NBIS administration.
Provide COMSEC security management and oversight.
Support construction, accreditation, and maintenance of closed areas and restricted spaces.

Knowledge of ICD 705 SCIF requirements.
Complete other security-related projects and duties as assigned.


WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your FSO expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The FSO must have:
Education: High School diploma with 9+ years of relevant industrial security or facility security experience OR a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant industrial security or FSO experience
Experience: 9+ years of relevant industrial security or facility security experience OR a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant industrial security or FSO experience
Technical skills:

  • Strong understanding of DCSA Industrial Security policies, including 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), DoDM 5200.01 Volumes 1-3 and all other applicable executive orders to ensure compliance

  • COMSEC security management experience

  • Knowledge of closed area construction, accreditation processes, and ICD 705 SCIF requirements.

  • Experience managing personnel security, document control, and visitor control processes through the Security Information Management System (SIMS).

  • Hands-on experience with eAPP, NISS, and DISS systems.

Security clearance level: Must have an active TS clearance in order to be considered and the ability to obtain an SCI
US citizenship required
Role requirements:

  • Intermediate Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external customers, management, contracts, and security personnel at all levels.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $72,250 - $97,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
