Job description

Title: Facility Security Officer

Location: United States-Illinois-Wood Dale

Job Number: 17511

SUMMARY

The Facility Security Officer (FSO) will provide onsite support for all security actions in accordance with NISPOM and other Federal government security regulations. The FSO will serve as the liaison with US government counterparts, conduct security briefings and debriefings, monitor classified controlled areas, and perform periodic self-inspections.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform all security operations including personnel clearance processing , tracking, education, reporting, debriefs and any other duties administratively.

  • Process necessary badges, visit requests and certifications for government facilities.

  • Daily use of personnel clearance data systems - DISS/NBIS and E-qip and other security software in the performance of assigned duties.

  • Prepare, issue and maintain DD254s.

  • Maintain classified materials receipt, logging, control, and dissemination.

  • Maintain accountability of classified government-furnished information and equipment.

  • Participate in and perform inspections and audits.

  • Maintain certification and accreditation of the facilities eligibility as well as personnel.

  • Create and update security plans, procedures, and instructions.

  • Develop and administer a comprehensive security education training program.

  • Maintain and coordinate excellent working relationships with government agencies.

  • Assure compliance with all government and company security regulations.

  • This position requires U.S. Security Clearance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Oversee all duties assigned to the Security Clerk front desk for all locations.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.

  • Must have experience implementing NISPOM requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

  • This position requires a BA or BS degree and at least 5 years of experience with industrial security, NISPOM, COMSEC programs, clearance processing, document control, and physical security; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Successful completion of the following CDSE courses: Essentials of Industrial Security Management, Protecting Secret and Classified Documents, FSO Program Management, NSA COMSEC Custodian Academy, FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in the U.S. Government, DoD, Intelligence, or contractor community in security management.

  • Minimum of five years of experience in Industrial Security with associated training and credentials.

  • Experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) preferred.

  • Familiarity with NISPOM and DCID guidance documents.

  • Significant experience with DCSA Defense Information Security System (DISS)

  • Proficient with Microsoft applications.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $104,052 to $118,000 annually. This range reflects the base salary for candidates who meet the requirements of the role, including experience, education, and location. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for a bonus. AAR offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/dental/vision/life/and AD&D insurance, 401(k) savings plan with employer match, paid time off and holiday pay, as well as opportunities for professional development and growth.
