Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. College or advanced Technical coursework is highly preferred.
Registration: Not Required.
Experience: This position requires 10 or more years of relevant industrial experience in project management or automation / system integration engineering or management as it relates to Commissioning and Startup (CSU).
Job Summary:
Generally responsible for supervision and technical direction over a team of Startup + Commissioning Teammates engaged in the execution of CSU activities related to projects, ensuring total delivery of the services on time, within performance budget and meeting quality expectations. The position will develop or review and approve CSU execution plans. Work involves utilization of project controls for cost, schedule and quality of projects. The position will support the Project Managers in implementation of the direction provided by the Client. This work will be performed under the Startup + Commissioning Leader's supervision.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Project Execution Responsibility through the Project Managers
• Project Delivery responsibility through the Project Managers
• Periodic and frequent review of projects with Project Managers and Project Controls to confirm projects are on track for successful completion related to CSU activities
• Assuring projects are following approved company procedures to ensure success
• Establishing a safe work environment and communicating the company commitment to safety to Teammates and clients
• Planning and organizing the work of the team. Communicating the plan to the team, the company leadership and the clients.
• Maintaining control of the projects by ensuring that systems remain in place to maintain discipline performance, budget progress, schedule commitments, and quality standards. Understanding and utilizing the project tools that are in place for project control.
• Delegating work to Teammates during CSU activities in proportion to their technical skills and experience, then following up for support to ensure efficient progress and quality.
• Familiarity with project performance and financials, and whether they are meeting client expectations.
• Technical contractual activities on all projects assigned to the office.
