Position Description

Travel: CSICU/CSU RN

Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals. Will accept 36 or 48 hours per week.

HOLIDAYS AS REQUIRED. EVERY OTHER WEEKEND.

2 years of recent CVICU experience is required.

Our Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) is a four 4-bed unit that directs its resources principally towards the care of adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, thoracic, vascular and other surgical conditions requiring critical care located on 4 North. The care of these patients is primarily focused on post-operative recovery and providing complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring. Nurses must exhibit high levels of professional competency. CSU is an 8 bed stepdown unit. The stepdown unit focuses on the care and recovery of patients after cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery. Both units are supported by a cardiovascular educator. Together we specialize in the patient centered approach to care. Our team is dedicated to making our patient’s experience pleasant and comfortable in a safe and secure environment.

Education - Required

  1. Associated degree in nursing

Certifications – Required

  1. AHA BLS

  2. AHA NIH

  3. Or Red Cross

Certifications – Preferred

  1. AHA PALS – if working in pediatric unit

Licenses – Required

  1. Registered Nurse State of Alabama or compact license (No Temp Licenses' accepted)

  2. NURSYS

Experience - Required:

• 2 years experience; must have 2 years of experience in the field of specialty.
