Certified Surgical Technologist, CST – LDRP

Work location: Texas Health Allen, 1105 Central Expressway North, Allen Texas, 75013

Work hours: PRN, 7:00pm – 7:00am

Mom/Baby Department Highlights

  • Level II Maternal Designation with Level II NICU
  • Certified Nurse Midwife Hospitalist Based Model
  • 8 LDRPs, 5 Antepartum Rooms, 2 Operating Rooms
  • 40 – 45 deliveries per month

Here's What You Need

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009 required OR
  • Other Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology upon hire required OR
  • Other Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology upon hire preferred
  • Women's Health experience preferred
  • 1 year current operating room experience preferred
  • CST - Certified Surgical Technologist CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) and a graduate of an accredited surgical tech program Upon Hire required or
  • CST - Certified Surgical Technologist CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009 Upon Hire required or
  • CST - Certified Surgical Technologist CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology Upon Hire required or
  • LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire required and
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Upon Hire required and
  • CPT – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually within 90 days required

What You Will Do

  • Assist in providing peri-operative care for a patient population that includes Infants, Pediatrics, Adults, and Geriatrics
  • Assist with stocking Unit (Rooms and Supplies)
  • Attend Vaginal Deliveries
  • Preoperatively assist R.N. circulator in formulating plan of care
  • Assist as needed in coordinating patient care peri-operatively and assume responsibility and accountability for behavior in order to maintain standards for professional nursing practice
  • Post-operatively follow proper procedures for care of instruments, supplies and equipment. Under supervision, assist RN circulator with post-operative duties
  • Assist in the delivering of nursing care in a manner that minimizes the risk of transfer of infection and accidental contamination.
